Jean-Paul L'Allier

Jean-Paul L'Allier (born August 12, 1938) was a Canadian politician, a two-term Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) and the 38th Mayor of Quebec City.
==Background==
He was born in Hudson, Montérégie in 1938 and has a law degree from the University of Ottawa. He practiced law in the Ottawa and Outaouais regions in the 1960s. He also worked for the Montreal newspaper Le Devoir in the 1980s. He is a self-proclaimed Liberal, sovereigntist and social democrat.
